65% at 70℃; for 12h;sealed tube; [0605] (d) 6-Bromo-2-methoxy-4-methylquinoline: 6-Bromo-2-chloro-4- methylquinoline (0.055 g, 0.215 mmol) was placed in a sealed tube and treated with NaOMe (0.29 mL, 0.537 mmol) and MeOH (1 mL). The reaction was capped and heated at 70 0C for 12 hours. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature, diluted with EtOAc and washed with water (2 x 20 mL). The organic layer was dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated. The product was purified through a plug of silica eluting with 100% hexanes to remove baseline material. The desired product was isolated as a white solid (0.035 g, 65%).
