5-Methylthieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4(3H)-one (6e) (0.76 g, 4.4 mmol) and N-chlorosuccinimmide (0.7 g,5.2 mmol) were dissolved in glacial AcOH (23 mL) and heated at 95 C for 1.5 h. The reaction mixturewas then concentrated in vacuo. The residue was stirred with H2O (25 mL), filtered, washed with H2Oand MeOH and finally dried to give a brown solid in 63% yield. 1H-NMR (DMSO-d6), delta: 2.42 (s, 3H),8.10 (s, 1H), 12.56 (bs, 1H). 13C-NMR (DMSO-d6), delta: 12.9, 120.5, 122.5, 130.8, 146.3, 157.0, 161.5. |
