The reaction mixture was quenched with water (500 mL). The resulting solution was extracted with dichloromethane (3x 300 mL). The combined organic layers were dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated under vacuum. The combined organic layers were concentrated under vacuum to give 2-methyltetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-amine (400 mg, crude) as a yellow oil, which was used directly without further purification. LC-MS: m/z 116 [M+H]+.
