Description : |
9,10-Anthracenediyl-bis(methylene)dimalonic acid (ABMDMA) functions as a biological dye and indicator for detecting singlet oxygen generation (SOG). This compound is a water-soluble derivative of anthracene. It undergoes photobleaching by singlet oxygen, forming its corresponding endoperoxide. The progress of this reaction can be tracked spectrophotometrically by observing the reduction in absorbance at 400 nm[1].[2].
