Chemistry Heterocyclic Building Blocks Indolines
Indoline is a type of organic compound that is aromatic and heterocyclic, having the chemical formula C8H9N. Its structure is composed of two rings, a six-membered benzene ring and a five-membered ring containing nitrogen, which are fused together to form a bicyclic structure.
Indoline has a structure similar to indole, except for a saturated 2-3 bond. When subjected to oxidation/dehydrogenation, it can be transformed into indoles.
