YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
427 g With tetrakis(triphenylphosphine) palladium(0); potassium carbonate; In tetrahydrofuran; water; for 4h;Inert atmosphere; Reflux; In a nitrogen atmosphere, 4-propyl bromobenzene (400 g), 2 M potassium carbonate aqueous solution (1100 mL), tetrakistriphenylphosphine palladium (0) (11.6 g) were dissolved in THF (1200 mL) and heated to reflux. Under reflux, a solution of 2,3-difluorophenylboronic acid (317 g) dissolved in THF (950 mL) was added, and the mixture was further stirred under reflux for 4 hours. After completion of the reflux, the reaction solution was allowed to cool, hexane was added and the organic layer was separated. Hexane was added to the remaining aqueous layer, and liquid separation was carried out, and the organic layer was separated again and combined with the organic layer which was previously fractionated. The obtained organic layer was washed twice with saturated brine. Sodium sulfate was added to the organic layer after washing, dried, and the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography and recrystallized from ethanol to give 2,3-difluoro-4- (4-propyl Phenyl) benzene (427 g).
