With hydrogen In acetic acid at 20℃; for 48h; | 43A The iodide salt of 5-amino-1-methylquinolinium (3 g, 9.5 mmol), (prepared as described in McCurdy et al., J. Am. Chem. Soc. Vol. 114(26) pages 10314-21 (1992)), in 250 ml of acetic acid was treated with PtO2 (0.6 g) under hydrogen at 50 psi for 48 hr at room temperature. To the precipitated tan-colored product was added 100 ml of methanol to homogenize for filtration. Filtrate was concentrated, dissolved in methylene chloride, cooled, neutralized with 1M NaHCO3 to pH 7, and finally extracted with methylene chloride. The combined organic layers were dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and the filtrate was concentrated to provide the title compound. MS (ESI+) m/z 163 (M+H)+. |
