Preparation 184-Hydrazino-N,N-dimethyl-benzenesulfonamide hydrochloride Dissolve 4-amino-N,N-dimethylbenzenesulfonamide (200 mg, 0.999 mmol) in concentrated hydrochloric acid (4 mL). Cool to 0 C. Add sodium nitrite (80 mg, 1.16 mmol) in water (0.4 mL) dropwise at 0 C. Stir the mixture at 0 C for 1 h. Add a solution of tin dichloride (760 mg, 4.01 mmol) in concentrated HCl (0.8 mL) dropwise to the mixture at 0 C. Stir the mixture at 0 C for 1 h. Adjust the solution to about pH = 10 with 2 N NaOH. Extract the mixture with EtO Ac. Concentrate the organic portion under reduced pressure. Add 2 N HCl (5 mL, 10.00 mmol) and stir the mixture for 1 h.Concentrate the solution under reduced pressure to afford the title compound (180 mg).
