YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
With sodium iodide; In water; N,N-dimethyl-formamide; at 20℃; for 2h; A mixture of [23784-96-5]2-chloro-5-(chloromethyl)thiophene (850 mg, 5.09 mmol), sodium cyanide (1.50 g, 30.5 mmol) and sodium iodide (153 mg, 1.02 mmol) in DMF:water (5: 1 ; 24 ml) was stirred at RT for 2h. The reaction was diluted with water and sat. sodium bicarbonate (aq) and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organics were combined and washed with sat. sodium bicarbonate (aq), filtered through an hydrophobic filter and concentrated under reduced pressure. The title compound was used directly in the next step with further purification.
