This was followed by 1.2 (10 g, 66.59 mmol, 1.00 equiv) dropwise with stirring at 0-5 C. The resulting solution was stirred for 2.5 hours at room temperature. The reaction was then quenched by the addition of 100 mL of NaHCO3 (aq). The resulting solution was extracted with 3×100 mL of MTBE and the organic layers combined. The crude was purified by column chromatography to provide 4.3 g (26.0%) of 38.1 as yellow oil.
