62% With dmap In <i>tert</i>-butyl alcohol at 20℃; for 2h; Di-tert-butyl-dicarbonate (29.2 g, 134 mmol) was added portionwise over 1 h to a solution of 5-hexynoic acid (5.00 g, 44.6 mmol) and 4- dimethylaminopyridine (0.550 g, 4.46 mmol) in t-BuOH (100 mL), and the reaction mixture was stirred for 2 h at room temperature. The mixture was evaporated and diluted with ethyl acetate (80 mL). The organic solvent was washed with 5% HCl (2 x 30 mL), 5% aq NaHCO3 (2 x 30 mL), brine (2 x 20 mL), and dried over sodium sulfate. After removal of solvent in vacuo, the residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel using an ethyl acetate-hexanes gradient (0-10%) to afford the product 15 (4.65 g, 62%) as a colorless oil: IR (Neat) 3306, 1730, 1149 cm'1; 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 2.33 (t, J = 7.2 Hz, 2 H) 2.25 (dt, 7 = 7.2, 2.4 Hz, 2 H), 1.94 (t, J = 2.4 Hz, 1 H), 1.78 (q, / = 7.2 Hz, 2 H), 1.42 (s, 9 H); 13C NMR (75 MHz, CDCl3) δ 172.31, 83.38, 80.16, 68.86, 34.11, 28.00, 27.79, 23.72, 21.36, 17.37; GC-CMS m/z (rel intensity) 169 (3, MH+), 113 (100). Anal. Calcd for C10Hj6O2: C, H.
