With (bis-(2-methoxyethyl)amino)sulfur trufluoride; In dichloromethane; at 20℃; for 6h; To a solution of <strong>[146137-79-3]4-fluoro-3-formylbenzonitrile</strong> (300 mg) in dichloromethane (7 ml) was added 2-methoxy-N-(2-methoxyethyl)-N-(trifluoro-lambda4-sulfanyl)ethanamine (757 mg) at room temperature, followed by stirring for 6 hours, and addition of a saturated aqueous NaHCO3 solution (15 ml). After extraction with chloroform (30 ml), the organic layer was dried over anhydrous MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (n-hexane:EtOAc=95:5 to 80:20) to obtain 3-(difluoromethyl)-4-fluorobenzonitrile (174 mg) as a colorless liquid.
