Pulegone, a natural product isolated and purified from the herbs of Mentha canadensis L., has cytotoxicity followed by regenerative cell proliferation is the MOA for Pulegone-induced urothelial tumors in female rats, induces a verapamil-sensitive psychostimulant effect that appears to independ on the opening of L-type calcium channels, and has negative reinforcing properties and seems to possess anxiolytic-like actions unrelated to the benzodiazepine site of the γ-aminobutyric acid type A (GABAA) receptor.

Animal Model
Administration Dosage Frequency Description References
Wistar rats L-NAME-induced hypertensive rat model Oral 20 mg/kg, 40 mg/kg, 80 mg/kg Once daily for 28 days Pulegone prevented L-NAME-induced hypertension by demonstrating a hypotensive effect through muscarinic receptors and cyclooxygenase pathway, reducing blood pressure and heart rate, improving vascular function, restoring serum nitric oxide levels, and ameliorating lipid profile and oxidative stress markers. Cardiovasc Ther. 2023 May 9;2023:8166840
FVB/n female mice Chronic toxicity study (28 days) and acute toxicity study (7 days) Oral (via food) Chronic toxicity study: 2.6 mg, 5.2 mg, 7.8 mg; Acute toxicity study: 1000 mg Chronic toxicity study: Daily administration for 28 days; Acute toxicity study: Daily administration for 7 days To evaluate the effects of Pulegone and Eugenol on behavioral, physiological, hematological, histopathological, genotoxic, and enzymatic parameters. Results showed that Pulegone and Eugenol induced behavioral changes, decreased body weight, reduced food and water consumption, and caused genetic damage. High-dose combination (1000 mg) resulted in a 20% mortality rate. Biomedicines. 2022 Oct 17;10(10):2595

Dissolving Methods
Please choose the appropriate dissolution scheme according to your animal administration guide.For the following dissolution schemes, clear stock solution should be prepared according to in vitro experiments, and then cosolvent should be added in turn:

in order to ensure the reliability of the experimental results, the clarified stock solution can be properly preserved according to the storage conditions; The working fluid for in vivo experiment is recommended to be prepared now and used on the same day;

The percentage shown in front of the following solvent refers to the volume ratio of the solvent in the final solution; If precipitation or precipitation occurs in the preparation process, it can be assisted by heating and/or ultrasound.
