Description
Amsilarotene (TAC-101; Am 555S), a synthetic orally active retinoid, selectively binds to retinoic acid receptor α (RAR-α) with dissociation constants of 2.4 and 400 nM for RAR-α and RAR-β, respectively. It promotes apoptosis in cells of human gastric cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and ovarian carcinoma, and is useful for cancer research[1][2][3].
