MreB Perturbing Compound A22 HCl is a benzyl isothiourea compound that rapidly and reversibly interacts with the ATP-binding site of MreB, preventing normal rod formation in Escherichia coli, inhibiting chromosome segregation, and suppressing growth (MIC=3.1 µg/ml), commonly used to study the structure and function of bacterial cytoskeletons.
