MRK-740 is a selective PRDM9 histone methyltransferase inhibitor with an IC50 of 80 nM. It effectively reduces PRDM9-dependent H3K4 trimethylation (IC50 = 0.8 µM) and shows high selectivity against other histone methyltransferases and non-epigenetic targets, making it useful for epigenetics and reproductive biology research.
