Biological Activity

Description
N-Desmethyltamoxifen hydrochloride, tamoxifen's main metabolite in humans, exhibits modest antiestrogen activity but is ten times more effective as a protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor than tamoxifen itself. It also acts as a significant regulator of ceramide metabolism in human AML cells, inhibiting ceramide glycosylation, hydrolysis, and sphingosine phosphorylation [1][2][3].
