N-Dodecyl-β-D-maltoside, also known as Lauryl Maltoside, is a non-ionic detergent with strong affinity for alumina, titanium dioxide, and hematite. It facilitates the reactivation of various proteins and effectively stabilizes photoactive reaction center complexes (RCs), thereby preventing degradation of Rhodopseudomonas spheroides R-26 reaction center in solution. Additionally, it is utilized in the purification and stabilization of RNA polymerase and for the detection of protein-lipid interactions[1][2][3][4].
