NS-398 is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent with analgesic and antipyretic effects. It selectively inhibits the activity of prostaglandin G/H synthase 2/cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) with an IC50 of 3.8 μM, while showing no effect on COX-1 at 100 μM.
