Recombinant Human LAMP2 (C-6His, HEK293) is a human-derived protein expressed in HEK293 cells and carries a C-terminal 6×His tag. This protein corresponds to lysosomal-associated membrane protein 2 (LAMP2), a major component of the lysosomal membrane, with an approximate molecular weight of 110 kDa. It contains a glycosylated luminal domain, a transmembrane segment, and a cytoplasmic tail. LAMP2 is involved in the cleavage and degradation of the luminal domain within the lysosome and facilitates the degradation of autophagosomes in the lysosomal compartment.

Synonyms: Recombinant Human LAMP2 (C-6His, HEK293); Lysosome-Associated Membrane Glycoprotein 2; LAMP-2

Biological Activity

Description
Lysosomal Associated Membrane Protein 2 (LAMP2) is a major component of lysosomal membranes. LAMP2 is a transmembrane glycoprotein about 110kDa. Mature human LAMP2 consists of a 347 amino acid (aa) intralumenal domain, a 24 aa transmembrane segment, and a 35 aa cytoplasmic tail . The lumenal domain is organized into two heavily N-glycosylated regions. Alternate splicing generates a human LAMP2 isoform (LAMP2B) with a substituted juxtamembrane lumenal region, cytoplasmic tail and transmenmbrane segment.LAMP2 itself can cleavage lysosomal luminal domain and degradation lysosomal. In the help of chaperone HSC73,LAMP2 mediates the lysosomal uptake in complex with cargo proteins and is required for the lysosomal destruction of autophagic vacuoles.
Protein Species Human
Expression System Human Cells
Tag C-6His
Protein Expression Interval Leu29-Ile375
Protein ID P13473
Endotoxin < 1 EU/µg as determined by LAL test.
Characteristics Lyophilized powder
Formulation Description Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of 20mM PB, 150mM NaCl, pH 7.2.
Reconstitution Method Always centrifuge tubes before opening.Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100μg/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
For long-term storage, it is recommended to further dilute the product with a solution containing carrier proteins (e.g., 0.1% BSA, 10% FBS, or 5% HSA). For serum-free cultures or in vivo animal experiments where BSA, FBS, or HSA cannot be present in the cytokine preparation, trehalose may be used as an alternative carrier. Aliquots should be stored frozen at -20°C to -80°C.
Note: Low-adsorption tubes are recommended for aliquot storage, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. The dilution concentration for aliquoting should not be lower than 10 μg/mL, and the aliquot volume should be no less than 10 μL.
Aliquoted protein remains stable for up to 3 months when stored at ≤ -20°C.
