Recombinant Human PDGFRA (C-6His, HEK293) is a human platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha protein expressed in human cells and tagged with a C-terminal 6×His tag. This protein belongs to the class III receptor tyrosine kinase subfamily and is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein that mediates the PDGF signaling pathway. It is involved in regulating the development of neural crest, cardiac, and renal mesenchyme, and its expression is upregulated under inflammatory conditions and tissue culture induction. The protein activates downstream signaling pathways including PI3K, Ras-MAPK, and PLC-γ.

Synonyms: Recombinant Human PDGFRA (C-6His, HEK293); Platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha; PDGFR-alpha

Biological Activity

Description
Platelet-derived Growth Factor Receptor Alpha (PDGF Rα) is an enzyme that belongs to the class III subfamily of receptor tyrosine kinases. It is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein, and can form homo- or hetero-dimeric receptors when engaged by dimers of the PDGF family of growth factors, PDGF Rα is strongly expressed in oligodendrocyte, lung, skin and intestinal progenitor cells and induced by inflammation or growth in culture, but is lowly expressed in most mesenchymal cells. PDGF Rα autophosphorylates upon dimerization, activating signaling cascades in PI-3kinase Ras-MAP kinase, and PLC-γ pathways. PDGF Rα has infulence on local gradients of epithelially produced PDGF-AA or PDGF-CC during formation of the cranial ,cardiac neural crest and interstitial kidney mesenchyme.
Protein Species Human
Expression System Human Cells
Tag C-6His
Protein Expression Interval Gln24-Glu524
Protein ID P16234
Endotoxin < 1 EU/µg as determined by LAL test.
Characteristics Lyophilized powder
Formulation Description Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of PBS, pH 7.4.
Reconstitution Method Always centrifuge tubes before opening.Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100μg/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
For long-term storage, it is recommended to further dilute the product with a solution containing carrier proteins (e.g., 0.1% BSA, 10% FBS, or 5% HSA). For serum-free cultures or in vivo animal experiments where BSA, FBS, or HSA cannot be present in the cytokine preparation, trehalose may be used as an alternative carrier. Aliquots should be stored frozen at -20°C to -80°C.
Note: Low-adsorption tubes are recommended for aliquot storage, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. The dilution concentration for aliquoting should not be lower than 10 μg/mL, and the aliquot volume should be no less than 10 μL.
Aliquoted protein remains stable for up to 3 months when stored at ≤ -20°C.
