Recombinant Human CD98 (N-6His, HEK293) is a human-derived recombinant protein expressed in HEK293 cells with an N-terminal 6His tag. This multifunctional glycoprotein is involved in biological processes such as amino acid transport, cell adhesion, spreading, and proliferation. It can interact with CD147 to activate integrin signaling, thereby promoting tumor progression, angiogenesis, invasion, and T cell activation. CD98 is closely associated with liver fibrosis and malignant tumor transformation.

Biological Activity

Description
CD98 is a multifunctional glycoprotein that is involved in various biological processes such as amino acid transport, cell adhesion, diffusion, adhesion, and proliferation. CD98 can interact with CD147 to induce integrin 1 function to promote cyclosporine B-induced cell adhesion and p44/p42 MAPK activation following PI3K activation. CD98 heavy chain has been studied to be a key player in tumorigenesis due to its role in activating integrin signaling to promote tumor progression via angiogenesis, invasiveness, and proliferation in addition to promoting malignant transformation of cells. Fibrotic progression in the liver could be linked to the activation of integrin αvβ1 via CD98. CD98’s role in T cell activation in which the TGF activation could also play a profibrotic role.
Protein Species Human
Expression System Human cells
Tag N-6His
Protein Expression Interval Arg206-Ala630
Protein ID P08195
Endotoxin < 1 EU/µg as determined by LAL test.
Characteristics Lyophilized powder
Formulation Description Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of PBS, pH 7.4.
Reconstitution Method Always centrifuge tubes before opening.Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100μg/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
For long-term storage, it is recommended to further dilute the product with a solution containing carrier proteins (e.g., 0.1% BSA, 10% FBS, or 5% HSA). For serum-free cultures or in vivo animal experiments where BSA, FBS, or HSA cannot be present in the cytokine preparation, trehalose may be used as an alternative carrier. Aliquots should be stored frozen at -20°C to -80°C.
Note: Low-adsorption tubes are recommended for aliquot storage, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. The dilution concentration for aliquoting should not be lower than 10 μg/mL, and the aliquot volume should be no less than 10 μL.
Aliquoted protein remains stable for up to 3 months when stored at ≤ -20°C.
