Proglumide sodium is a non-peptide, orally active cholecystokinin (CCK)-A/B receptor antagonist that selectively blocks the action of CCK in the central nervous system, with activities including inhibiting gastric secretion, protecting gastric and duodenal mucosa, and having anticonvulsant and antioxidant properties.
