Skimmianin, a natural product isolated and purified from the herbs of Skimmia japonica, is an inhibitor against the Leishmania APRT enzyme and a strong acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor, and has a selective inhibitory effect on the 5-hydroxytryptamine-induced vasopressor responses of rats.
