Taltirelin acetate is the acetate form of Taltirelin (TA-0910), an orally active thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) analogue with TRH receptor superagonist activity (IC50: 910 nM). It crosses the blood-brain barrier, increasing intracellular Ca2+ concentration (EC50: 36 nM). In MPP+ or rotenone-treated SH-SY5Y cells and rat primary midbrain neurons, Taltirelin enhances cell viability, reduces apoptosis, and exhibits neuroprotective effects, showing good results in Parkinson's disease models.
