YM-244769 2HCl is an effective, selective, orally active Na+/Ca2+ exchanger (NCX) inhibitor with preference for NCX3, inhibiting NCX outward current (Ca2+ entry mode) with IC50 values of 18 nM and 50 nM, respectively. It effectively prevents hypoxia/reoxygenation-induced SH-SY5Y neuronal cell damage and increases urine output and electrolyte excretion in mice.
