First of all, I would like to thank my advisor Professor Dr. Edward Turos for mentoringme throughout my Ph D. journey. When I joined in the Chemistry department at USF, I neverthought I that would be working in a synthetic organic chemistry lab in next few years, as myarea of interest was analytical chemistry or material science at tat time. However, Dr. Turos'soutstanding personality, wisdom and eloquence brought me in this innovative and challengingarea of science. Then I would like to thank my supervisory committee members Dr. Jianfeng Cai and DrKirpal Bisht in the department. I would also like to send my gratitude to Dr. Abdul Malik for hisguidance as a supervisory committee member for 4 years. I am also thankful to Dr. Dominic D'Agostino and his research group for collaboratingwith us in this project and providing guidance. His research laboratory manager Dr. ChristopherRogers and technician Natalya Thomas helped me a lot with this project by perfomming animaltesting in their laboratory. Without their support this project would be incomplete. Finally, I would like to express my heartiest gratitude to my previous coworker Dr.Michael S. Williams and Dr. Katrinah l. Tirado for helping me to learn lots ofchemistry and labtechniques. I am also grateful to Lindsay Blume for helping and supporting me in my Ph.D.journey not only as a coworker, but also as a good friend. Special thanks goes to Interdisciplinary Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) facility andcore facility ofChemical Purification, Analysis and Screening (CPAS) ofUniversity of SouthFlorida.
