YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
98% Example 83 2-(3-Cyclopentyl-propyl)-5-(4-nitro-phenyl)-2N-tetrazole To a suspension of 60% sodium hydride in mineral oil (424 mg, 10.6 mmol) in anhydrous N,N-dimethylformamide (10 mL) was added [16687-60-8]5-(4-nitrophenyl)-1H-tetrazole (2.0 g, 10.5 mmol) as a solution in N,N-dimethylformamide (20 mL). After 10 minutes, 3-cyclopentyl-1-iodopropane (2.75 g, 11.6 mmol, 1.1 equiv) was added. After two days the mixture was poured onto ice, and the resulting precipitate was collected by filtration. The solid was washed with water and dried at 50C under vacuum to afford the title compound (3.09 g, 98%) as a low melting yellow solid. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 300 MHz) delta 8.39 (d, 8.8 Hz, 2 H), 8.30 (d, 8.8 Hz, 2 H), 4.76 (t, 7.0 Hz, 2 H), 1.98 (m, 2 H), 1.72 (m, 3 H), 1.4 - 1.5 (m, 4 H), 1.29 (m, 2 H), 1.02 (m, 2 H); MS (CI) 302 (MH+); Rf=0.90 (C).
