98% at 110℃; for 5 h; Step 3;. Preparation of 3-amino-6-chloro-pyridine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester hydrochloride; Combine 3-amino-6-chloro-pyridine-2-carboxylic acid amide (0.87 g, 5.09 mmol) and 35percent hydrochloric acid (5 mL) and heat at 110 °C for 5 h. Evaporate the solvent under reduced pressure until dryness to afford 3-amino-6-chloro-pyridine-2-carboxylic acid hydrochloride (1.22 g, 98percent). MS (ES+) : 246 (M+H). Suspend 3-amino-6-chloro- pyridine-2-carboxylic acid hydrochloride (1.2 g, 4.89 mmol) in methanol (10 mL), add thionyl chloride (0.85 mL, 6.36 mmol) dropwise at room temperature and stir the mixture at 100 °C for 24 h. Remove the solvent under reduced pressure to afford the title compound (1.21 g, 95percent). MS (ES+) : 260 (M+H).
