YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
68% With sodium hydroxide; In ethanol; at 40℃; for 3h; In a 250 mL three-necked flask equipped with a constant pressure dropping funnel, a spherical reflux condenser, and a magnet, 7.06 g of 2-aminoethanol hydrogen sulfate (0.05 mol), 100 mL of 95percent ethanol, and 5.61 g (0.10 mol) of sodium hydroxide were added. 7.61 g (0.10 mol) of carbon disulfide was slowly added dropwise with stirring. The temperature of the reaction system was controlled at 40°C. TLC followed the progress of the reaction. After 3 hours, the reaction was completed. After the reaction was complete, the solution was desolvated, extracted, and filtered. The filtrate was washed with 3×15 mL of deionized water, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and evaporated under reduced pressure to give 1,3-diethanol. The crude thiazol-2-thione product was recrystallized as pure product (4.05 g, yield 68.00percent)
