40% With sodium carbonate; In water; at 20℃; Methyl 3-oxotetrahydrothiophene-2-carboxylate (3.2 g, 20 mmol) , methyl carbamimidothioate 0.5H2SO4(2.78 g, 20 mmol) and Na2CO3(2.2 g, 20 mmol) were dissolved in H2O (30 mL) , the reaction mixture was stirred at rt. overnight. The resulting precipitate was filtered to afford the title compound as a solid (1.6 g) . Yield: 40. MS (ESI) : calcd. value for C7H8N2OS2is 200.0, m/z measured value is 200.9 (M+1)+.
