YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
86% With hydrogen bromide; In water; at 120℃; for 16h; 12-amino- l-dodecanol (26b) (3. l8g, 15.8 mmol) was suspended in aqueous HBr (25 mL, 48%, 220 mmol) in a pressure vessel. The mixture was stirred at 120 C for 16 h. The starting material was totally dissolved once heated to 120 C. After reaction the product formed a brown solid layer at the top of solution. The solid was filtered out, washed with a little water. Drying under vacuum gives l2-bromododecylamine hydrobromide (26c) as a gray solid (4.67 g, 86%). This material was used for the next step reaction without further purification. NMR (400 MHz, CD3OD): d 3.43 (t, J= 6.8 Hz, 2H), 2.92 (t, J= 7.6 Hz, 2H), 1.84 (m, 2H), 1.65 (m, 2H), 1.50-1.20 (m, 16H).
