69% With air; In chloroform; at 20℃; for 3h; To a stirred solution of 6,7-dimethoxy-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline[33] (0.15 g, 0.78 mmol) in chloroform (5 mL), was added 2,3-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)cycloprop-2-en-1-one [35,36] (0.21 g,0.78 mmol) at room temperature under an air atmosphere. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 h and then solvents were removed by rotary evaporation. The crude product was purified by silica chromatography to afford the title compound as an orange yellow solid (0.16 g, 69% yield), m.p. 142-143C.
