74% General procedure: To the suspension of compound II (1 gm, 4.18 mmol) in 15 ml ofdry toluene, thionyl chloride (0.42 ml, 5.81 mmol) and freshlydried pyridine (0.46 ml, 5.81 mmol) were added. The reaction mixturewas stirred at room temperature for 3-4 h and then combinedwith excess of secondary amines and triethylamine (1.72 ml,12.37 mmol) and stirred for another 3 h. The reaction was monitoredby TLC. The following day the solvent was removed undervacuum and water was added to the solid residue. The precipitatewas filtered, washed with water and dried.
