YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
In ethanol; at 75℃; (c) Methyl 6-methoxy-2-(methylamino)nicotinate. A mixture of [95652-77-0]methyl 2-chloro-6-methoxynicotinate (60 g, 0.3 mol) and 30% solution OfMeNH2 in EtOH (256 mL, 2.48 mol) in EtOH (500 mL) was heated to 75C in a sealed tube overnight. The reaction mixture was left to reach room temperature and evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was diluted with water and extracted with chloroform (3x). The combined extract was washed with water and brine, dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, and filtered. The filtrate was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by silica gel chromatography to give the title compound.
