99% for 18h;Reflux; Inert atmosphere; General procedure: The mixture of indole aldehyde (1.0 equiv.) and (Carbethoxyethylidene)triphenylphosphorane (1.3 equiv.) was dissolved in CH2Cl2 or Toluene. The reaction solution was refluxed for 18 h and the excess solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel using 0?40percent EtOAc in Hexanes as eluant to give the desired products 4a?4j.
