YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
53% With dichloro(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)rhodium (III) dimer; copper diacetate; In methanol; at 20℃; for 2h; General procedure: [Cp*RhCl2]2 (2.5 mg, 2mol%), 2-hydroxy styrenes 1 (0.2mmol), Cu(OAc)2 (80 mg, 0.4 mmol), and phenylboronic acid 2 (0.4mmol) were added to a vial, then MeOH (2 mL) was added via syringe. The reaction mixture was kept at room temperature. After completion within 2 hours, it was diluted with CH2Cl2 and transferred to a round bottom flask, silica gel (500 mg) was added to the flask and all the volatiles were evaporated under vacuum. The purification was performed by flash column chromatography on silica gel using mixture of ethyl acetate/petroleum ether (v/v, 1:10) as eluent to give product 3.
