Then, 10 ml water, Meglumine (0.04 gm, 20 mol %),and malononitrile 4 (0.06 ml,1 mmol) were added and stirred for 5 min followed by theaddition of 5-aryldiazenyl salicylaldehyde(s) 3 (1 mmol). The resultant mixture wasstirred at room temperature for the time specified in Table 2. The progress of the reactionwas monitored by TLC. After completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture wasfiltered and washed with 2ml hot water to furnish the corresponding product 2-amino-4-(5-hydroxy-3-methyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-6-aryldiazenyl-4H-chromene-3-carbonitriles 5.
