90% Reference ESynthesis of 4-(4-phenylthiazol-2-yl)piperidineTo a flask charged with 2-bromoacetophenone (0.8 mL, 4092 μιηο) and tert-butyl 4- carbamothioylpiperidine-l-carboxylate (1.00 g, 4092 μιηο) was added EtOH (16 mL). The resulting solution was heated at reflux for 17 h under nitrogen. The resulting suspension was cooled to RT, dried under reduced pressure and purified using a 10 g SCX-2 column using methanol to transfer the material and wash the column and 2M N¾ in MeOH to elute 4-(4- phenylthiazol-2-yl)piperidine (900 mg, 90%>) obtained as a white solid upon drying of the basic wash.
