5-Fluoropyridine-2-carbonitrile 61a (2.68 g, 21.9 mmol), 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol (2.76 g, 20.0 mmol) andPotassium carbonate (3.31 g, 23.7 mmol) was added to N,N-dimethylformamide (10 mL), and the reaction was stirred at 105 C for 16 hours.Ethyl acetate/petroleum ether (v/v = 5/1, 25 mL) was added to the reaction mixture, and a large white solid was precipitated and filtered.The filter cake is dried to obtain the title compound61b (2.4 g, yield 50%) as a white solid. |
