79.4% With potassium carbonate; at 80℃; for 6h; <strong>[454-16-0]1-fluoro-2-methoxy-4-nitrobenzene</strong> (0.2 g, 1.17 mmol) and morpholine (2.03 mg, 2.34 mmol) were dissolved in 5 ml DMF. Potassium carbonate (323 mg, 2.34 mmol) was added and the reaction was carried out at 80° C. for 6 hours. The solid was precipitated by addition of water, suction-filtered, and dried in the infrared to obtain 221 mg of a yellow solid. Yield: 79.4percent.

The reaction was cooled to room temperature, diluted with ethyl acetate (2 L), filtered. The filter cake was washed with ethyl acetate (1 L). The filtrate was washed with water (2 x 1 L), then 5percent aqueous lithium chloride (2 L), followed by brine (2 L). The organic phase was dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to afford 4-(2-methoxy-4-nitrophenyl)morpholine as a yellow-orange solid.
