87 g With tetrakis(triphenylphosphine) palladium(0); potassium carbonate; In tetrahydrofuran; water; for 2h;Reflux; <strong>[13659-23-9]2-bromo-5-chlorophenol</strong> (100 g, 482 mmol) and (2-fluoro-[1,1'-biphenyl]-3-yl) boronic acid (104 g, 482 mmol) was placed in a round bottom flask and dissolved in 2500 ml of tetrahydrofuran (THF).Potassium carbonate (133 g, 964 mmol) is dissolved in 500 ml of distilled water and added,Tetrakis (triphenylphosphine) palladium (0) (410 mg, 0.80 mmol) was added. After refluxing for 2 hours and cooling, the organic layer was separated. After distillation under reduced pressure to remove tetrahydrofuran (THF), it was dissolved in chloroform and placed in a separatory funnel and washed several times with water. Magnesium sulfate was added to the organic layer to remove water, followed by filtration. The filtrate was distilled under reduced pressure to remove the solvent. The resulting 4-chloro-2'-fluoro-[1,1': 3',1''-terphenyl]-2-ol (87 g, 291 mmol) was used directly in the next reaction.
