YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
55% With potassium carbonate; In acetone; at 70℃; for 24h;Reflux; 3-Methyl-5-phenyl-1H-pyrazole (1.0 g, 6.3 mmol) and potassium carbonate (1.92 g, 13.9 mmol) were suspended in 20 ml acetone. Ethyl bromoacetate (1.44ml,13.9mmol) was added and the mixturewas stirred at reflux for 24 h. The mixture evaporated under reduced pressure and the residue was partitioned between ethyl acetate and water. The aqueous was extracted three times with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried over magnesium sulphate, filtered and evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified using the SP1 Purification System (ethyl acetate-hexane gradient, 0:100 rising to 20:80) to give 6 (0.85 g, 3.5 mmol, 55%).
