69% With potassium carbonate; In N,N-dimethyl-formamide; at 70℃; for 4h; General procedure: A solution of 2 (1 mmol) and 3(1 mmol) in anhydrous DMF (10 mL) containing anhydrous K2CO3 (2 mmol) was heated at a given temperature for 2-36 h. DMF was removed in vacuo and the residue was dissolved in chloroform (10 mL). This solution was extracted with 5percent HCl (2 x 5 mL). The combined aqueous extracts were neutralized with 10percent aqueous NaOH to pH 8 and the resulting precipitate was filtered off, washed with water and dried in vacuo at 50 °C for 24 h to provide analytically pure title compounds.
