In water; at 20℃;UV-irradiation; Photolysis; Photolysis experiments were carried out in quartz cells containing DEET at 10, 20 or 40mgL-1 (52, 104 or 208muM) and illumination was provided by a Philips Ultraviolet Light Bulb 15 Watt TUV G15 T8 lamp with emission maximum at 254nm. Temperature within the cell was controlled by a thermostatic bath and fixed at +20C, 0C or -15C. In the case of photolysis in ice, DEET solutions were frozen overnight at -15C before illumination.
