YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
With thionyl chloride; In dichloromethane; iodine-containing oil was synthesized by amidation. 3- amino-2,4,6-triiodobenzoic acid was grafted to the carboxyl group of vitamin E succinic acid . Vitamin E succinic acid (4.4g, 0.008mol) was added in a round bottom flask containing 150 ml dichloromethane stirring at 0C. Thionyl chloride (1.4g, 0.012mol) was added and the mixture was stirred during 1 hour. The solvent was then evaporated and the mixture was re-dissolved in dichloromethane. The <strong>[3119-15-1]3-amino-2,4,6-triiodobenzoic acid</strong> (5.1g, O.Olmol) was then added in the flask and the mixture was stirred over night at the reaction temperature. The reaction mixture was extracted, added water twice with ethyl acetate and the organic phase was dried over anhydrous Na2S04. The solvent was removed in vacuum and the crude iodinated oil was purified by column chromatography on silica gel.
