YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
90% With trichlorophosphate; In 1,2-dichloro-ethane; for 3.0h;Heating / reflux; POCl3 (33 mmol) was added to the solution of methyl-3-carbamoyl-5-nitrobenzoate (30 mmol) in 1,2-dichloroethane (100 mL). Then the solution was heated to reflux for 3 hours. After cooling, it was poured into water. The organic layer was washed with saturated NaHCO3 solution and brine sequentially, dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, and concentrated to give methyl-3-cyano-5-nitrobenoate in 90% yield.
With trichlorophosphate; In 1,2-dichloro-ethane; for 3.0h;Reflux; POCI3 (27 mmol) was added to the solution of methyl-3-carbamoyl-5-nitrobenzoate (27 mmol) in 1 ,2-dichloroethane (80 mL). Then the solution was heated to reflux for 3 hours. After cooling, it was poured into water. The organic layer was washed with saturated NaHCC solution and brine sequentially, dried over anhydrous Na2S04, and concentrated to give methyl-3-cyano-5- nitrobenoate.
