100% With potassium carbonate; In acetonitrile; at 85℃; for 2h; <strong>[261952-16-3]2-methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl bromide</strong> (6.26 g, 24.7 mmol) was added to a mixture of intermediate 14 (5.00 g, 24.7 mmol) and K2CO3 (6.84 g, 49.5 mmol) in CH3CN (500 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred for 2 h at 85 C. Water and EtOAc were added to the mixture. The layers were separated and the organic layer was washed with water (twice), brine and water. The organic layer was dried over MgSO4, filtered and evaporated to dryness. The residue was taken up with DIPE to give 9.23 g of intermediate 15 (quant. yield)
