With triethylamine; In 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol; for 18.0h; 4,6-Dimethyl-3-pyridinecarbaldehyde1 (2.52g) and methyl D-alloisoleucinatehydrochloride (3.4g) were dissolved in 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol (50ml). To this wasadded triethylamine (2.61ml) and the reaction mixture was left to stand for 18 hours.
