77% With potassium phosphate; N-Bromosuccinimide; In dichloromethane; at 20℃; for 24h;Schlenk technique; General procedure: A 25 mL Schlenk tube was charged with β-keto acids 2 (0.75 mmol), sodium sulfinates 3 (0.5 mmol), NBS (0.75 mmol), K3PO4 (0.75 mmol) and CH2Cl2 (3 mL). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 h. After completion of the reaction, the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the resulting residue was purified by flash column chromatography on silica gel to provide the desired product.
